Christmas Giftable

This was one of the giftable items that we made on Saturday. The picture does not do it any justice, it is so super cute. The cone idea we got from another demonstrator's blog here. You can find the recipe and the poem for the inside of the snowman card there also. The Snowman was made along the same lines as the Frankenstein's for Halloween. I did use a pencil eraser to make his mouth. I just tapped the pencil in the ink and used it just like a rubber stamp. For his cheeks I just used a sponge dauber dipped in Pink Pirouette ink.

Stamp Camp

This was a cute little box we made at Stamp Camp. I got the tutorial here, she is a very talented demonstrator. All I did was accommodate mine to Christmas. I used the hostess set Deer Friends and the new felt ribbon from the Holiday Mini Catalog.

A New Top Note Character

So, I had a lot of fun making all of the Frankensteins for Halloween and then I seen someone had made a Snowman so I had to try it. I used the Top Note Die and Birds and Blooms Sizzlet Die to make this. I also used the 1/2" and 3/4" for his eyes and the big star punch for his nose. I am going to put him on the little white lunch bags for treat bags for Christmas.

Emboss Resist

I haven't fallen off of the face of the earth I promise. I just got really busy with Halloween and trying to finish all the treat boxes I needed.

At stamp camp we decided to start Technique booklets (I will share that later) this was our first technique. It is a very simple technique with a beautiful outcome. You emboss your image first with clear embossing powder. Next you use a sponge dauber or sponge to ink image over the embossed image, you can use classic or craft ink. Once you have the ink all around the image use a paper towel to remove any ink from the embossed image.

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Upsy Daisy

Ink: Basic Gray & Whisper White Craft Ink

Card Stock: Baja Breeze & Urban Garden Designer Series Paper

Mummy Treat Bag

This is the mummy bag that I am making for Halloween. I got the idea from the card I seen here. I thought it would make a very cute treat bag. I used the small brown bags that you can pick up anywhere. I also used the weathered background and stamped it in Ruby Red to punch out the eyes. To make the strips of paper I just cut them into 1" strips longer than my base and then snipped off the extra. Oh, I actually used Very Vanilla card stock.

Frankie

I had to share these. I found them at Cambria's blog. She turned them into boxes but I didn't want to make boxes for them because I need to make a few of them so I attached them to small treat bags I found at Hobby Lobby. They are like small lunch bags. I used the big shot top not die and the 1" and 1/2" circle punches along with the file tab punch. They are adorable. I need to make her bow a little smaller but other than that I love how they turned out.

Halloween Spider

This is a spider you can make out of the SU punches. I used it to cover Monster Munny but you could also cover York Peppermint Patties or even a flat sucker. Click Here to see where I found the idea.

I used the Scallop Circle, 1/2" Circle, 1/4" Circle & Photo Corner punch to create this.

Halloween Treat Bag

This is a small treat bag we made Sunday at Lee's workshop. It is super simple. We got to use the Big Shot to cut out the top note die. You just fold it in half and attach it to a small cello bag. I didn't put the ribbon on it till tonight when I was looking at it and decided it needed something more.

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Eat, Drink & Be Scary

Card Stock: Whisper White

Ink: Basic Black & Old Olive

Acc: Top Note Bigz Die, Black 1/4" grosgrain ribbon & small cello bags

Halloween 3-5-8-10 Box

This is a treat container for Halloween. Click Here to see a complete tutorial on how to make this box. The only difference between mine and hers is I used 8 1/2" x 11" card stock. I still scored at 3", 5", 8", & 10" and then long ways I scored at 2" and 1 1/2" this is the top of the box. If you have any questions email me and I will try to answer them.

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Eat, Drink & Be Scary (Holiday Mini) & Haunting jumbo wheel

Card Stock: Tangerine Tango, Whisper White & Basic Black

Ink: Tangerine Tango & Basic Black

Acc: Small Tag Punch & Tag Punch

Big Shot

I was actually playing with my new Big Shot the other day and this is the card that I made. I have seen a lot of samples with the Upsy Daisy stamp set and this die so I thought I would try. This die is one of the Sizzix Bigz dies that Stampin' Up is selling and it is exclusive to Stampin' Up! I have to say that this set (Upsy Daisy) has to be one of my favorites from the new catalog. I made this by stamping the flower image once and then stamping it a second time a little to the left of the first one and I didn't reink the stamp in between stamping the two images.

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Upsy Daisy

Ink: Riding Hood Red & Kiwi Kiss

Card Stock: Riding Hood Red, Whisper White & Kiwi Kiss

Acc: Big Shot & Bigz Top Note

Directions for Halloween Treat Holder

Ok, here goes I have never written instructions for these before but several people have asked so I thought I would try.
Begin by folding a 6 x 6 page in half--corner to corner; hold the now-triangle piece of paper so that the fold is at the bottom (first picture). Next take the point on your right and fold it so that it meets the midpoint of the opposite edge (see second picture). I made this step easier by measuring from the point down 2 1/2" and marked with a pencil so I knew where to fold the point to.
Fold the left point over to meet the right edge in a similar fashion (photo 3). On this my second point did not go all the way to the edge there was a small space. Now take one layer of the top point and fold it down over the front of the pouch (photo 4).
Add embelishments as you desire and this will hold a small cello bag.

Canvas Tote

This is the canvas tote bag I made for a friend of mine. I got the idea from one of the magazines that Stampin' Up! sends their demonstrators. I don't sew, I attached the ribbon with heavy duty hem tape and I was even able to tuck the ends in with the hem tape, you have to love that stuff. The only other supplies I used were the flower fusion flowers and the earth elements buttons. I think it turned out adorable.

Stamp Camp Project

This is another card that we made at the Flo Valley Stamp Camp. This was actually a card that we learned how to make at Convention. You start with the lightest color (Pink Pirouette) and ink the entire image. Then add more color with a sponge dauber. We used Tangerine Tango and Riding Hood Red. We also used the new 13/4" circle punch and the new Button Bouqet.

Big Shot

So, tonight I have been playing with some of the new stuff I got from Stampin' Up! My niece's birthday is Tuesday and she absolutely loves purple. I made her a banner with her name on it for tomorrow so we can celebrate her birthday. I used my new BIG SHOT and I love it! This is one of the dies that will be an exclusive Stampin' Up! die called Pennant. I also used Sizzix Sherif Bigz Alphabet. The word "Celebrate came from the new wheel Celebration. I rolled the wheel in Craft ink and embosed it with iridescent ice embossing powder. When it gets hung up tomorrow I will take a picture of the whole banner. It spells out "Lauren".

Stamp Camp Project

We made this card at the last Flo Valley stamp camp. It was a new technique for some. We used Heat and Stick powder on the image. The way it works is you cover the entire image with Versa Mark ink and then sprinkle Heat and Stick powder over the top and heat with the embossing heat tool. The powder will become a liquid glue. Then sprinkle your Dazzling Diamonds over the top and heat again to set the glitter. Everyone also got to play with the brand new Scallop Edge Punch.

Stamp Set: Dreams du Jour

Ink: Old Olive

Card Stock: Rose Red, So Saffron, Old Olive & Very Vanilla

Acc: 5/8" Chocolate Chip grosgrain, Scallop Edge Punch & Linen Thread

I am here

I made it! I arrived in Salt Lake City around 10:20 their time. I had to wait patiently for the hotel shuttle before I could check in at the convention center and get my hands on the new catalog. Oh, you all should be jealous, just wait till you see some of the things they are coming out with. Lots of accessories and some really neet stamp sets. Oh and they are bringing out four new punches and yes, I want them all (one of them is a scalloped square). I will try to post some more tomorrow but for now this has been a super long day!

I am still here

I promise I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. I have just been extremely busy and I apologize for neglecting my blog. I wanted to share with you a couple of the new In Colors for next year. I used three of them in this project: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss & Tangerine Tango. This was actually a little memo book that I found at Michael's on clearance for fifty cents. All I did was take the cover off and put card stock over the top. Also, if you notice the little button in the center of the circle is a new button coming out in the new catalog. It is part of a button bouqet that Stampin' Up! is releasing. I will try to take a picture of the new In Colors so that everyone can see all six of them. Have a good weekend!
